Plan Ahead for Weight Loss After Christmas

The festive period is often a time when we end up gaining a little extra weight – all the lovely food and drinks can be tempting to overdo!  If we plan now, we can get a head start on losing weight in the New Year.

The first thing to remember is that Christmas day and boxing day are only two days out of the year – if we are sensible the other days around this period, by not overeating or drinking, we can limit our weight gains a little.  If we take the view that we might as well let go and enjoy every day during December, then we set ourselves up for a much bigger gain.

In January, one of the things we can do to help lose the festive bulge is to cut down on our portion sizes a little.  This way, we can still enjoy eating the foods we like, but remain more in control of the amount we eat.
